A CRAVEN Arms Brewery has won a top award for its beer.
The Wood Brewery in beat off strong competition at the prestigious Heart of England fine foods (HEFF) Diamond Awards to take home the award for best alcoholic drink.
It was the sixth annual Diamond Awards from HEFF, which celebrates the best of local food and drink from across Shropshire, Staffordshire, Cheshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Gloucestershire and Birmingham.
There were 15 accolades up for grabs on the night including 10 product awards, three business awards, a retail and a hospitality award.
The Wood Brewery won the Alcoholic Drinks Diamond Award, sponsored by Hatchers Solicitors, for its Christmas Cracker, a seasonal strong, dark ruby ale.
“This is tribute to all the team at Woods, especially our head brewer Paul Benson,” said Edward Wood.
“We brewed our 5,000th brew recently, which is around 30 million pints, so to win this award on top of that milestone is fantastic.”
