A TEAM of apprentices are hoping their soapbox cart will take them all the way to the finish line this Sunday.
Team HGTA, working with Herefordshire Group Training Association, have spent the last few months constructing their own race cart which they will pit against more than 20 others at the Richard's Castle Soapbox Derby.
This will be the organisation's first attempt at entering the event.
"We don't know what to expect and we don't expect to win," said engineering tutor Andy Wright."It's just an exercise in engineering and hopefully it has been engineered nicely."
The apprentices have worked on the project since March in between working on their qualifications.
A lot of the parts used to build the cart have been supplied by local companies.
The project will raise money for Millie's Trust which aims to make first aid training readily available for minimal costs and in as many places as possible.
