THE junior ‘storm the castle’ event in Ludlow has a sponsor.

Lucton School has been unveiled as main sponsor of Junior Storm.

The boarding and day school for girls and boys aged six months to 18 years, has signed a three-year deal with Storm the Castle to sponsor the junior races which were held for the first time last year.

Junior Storm brings together hundreds of schoolchildren from local communities in the area, encouraging them to develop their fitness through participation in races with a friendly competitive edge.

All children finishing the races on Sunday, April 17 will receive a medal, while the organisers are also offering a trophy for the best attended school.

All three multi-terrain running events are on closed roads and footpaths giving children the chance to run some of the same paths as the adult race finish inside the grounds of historic Ludlow Castle.

Junior Storm races are still open for entries. Junior Storm Dash, 800m for 5-8 year olds, is free. Junior Storm Challenge, 2km, 9-12 years and Junior Storm Ultimate, 3km, 13-16 years both cost £5 to enter.
