AN art exhibition at the Old Surgery Gallery was just one of the events to mark the annual Green Man festival in Clun.

The festival is held to mark the beginning of spring in the town.

Staged over two days, the festival began with Morris Dancing in the town and reached a climax with the traditional battle in the town square between the Green Man and the Frost Queen.

There were many different events in and around the town including a craft fair and samba band in the grounds of Clun Castle including the chance to have a go at archery, enjoy the pleasures of the beer tent and listen to live music.

Revellers were also able to see exotic pets, see street entertainment and watch a The Clun Mummers Play.
