LUDLOW MP Philip Dunne met the chairman of Shropshire Partners in Care, the trade body for residential and domiciliary care agencies in Shropshire and Telford, to discuss issues facing the care sector.
Philip Dunne met David Coull, who is also chief executive of Coverage Care, to learn about the way the care industry is adapting to future challenges.
The care sector in South Shropshire is a significant employer, due to a higher proportion of retirees and increasing longevity.
“We discussed the pressures facing the care sector in South Shropshire and the way in which the sector is responding to increasing demand for services as people live longer lives,” said Philip Dunne.
“I was interested to hear the steps Coverage Care, and others in the more than 100 residential care homes in Shropshire, are taking to maintain and expand care provision in the Ludlow Constituency.”
