A University of Gloucestershire student from Tenbury has been recognised for her academic excellence.
Georgina Salmon, aged 19, who is studying BA (Hons) Fine Art, completed her first year of study as the highest performing student in the University of Gloucestershire’s School of Art and Design.
She is a former student at Tenbury High School who went on to study Photography and Fine Art at Ludlow College before achieving a place at the university.
The scholarship award has been provided by Ede and Ravenscroft who provide ceremonial robes for all occasions, including graduation ceremonies. Georgina, who studies at the university’s Centre for Art and Photography in Cheltenham, was presented with a certificate by the university and will receive a scholarship worth up to £1,875.
Georgina was one of only 23 students recognised across the university’s schools of study – with the three highest performing students in each school receiving an award.
“I’m really pleased and surprised to receive this award. I’ve worked hard during my first year at university and it’s fantastic to be recognised for this,” said Georgina.
