AN open day at Brimfield and Little Hereford Bowling Club is geared towards attracting new members to the sport.
The April 9 event will give people a chance to try their hand at the relaxing pastime, with an American tea laid on at the end of play.
“We are one of the biggest local clubs and are able to organise a range of social events throughout the year in addition to bowling,” said club chairman, Lester Bennett. “Bowls is a great way of relaxing and making new friends.
“ Some people will just enjoy a friendly roll-up on Mondays and Thursdays but, for the more competitively minded, it’s worth nothing that both the men’s and ladies’ Herefordshire champions are members of Brimfield,” Lester added.
Members will be on hand to show potential new recruits around the club, located in Haynall Lane, Brimfield, just off the main Tenbury road.
Bowls equipment will be made available for free on the day, which starts at 2,15 pm.
