ROGERS Kenneth Bernard "Known as Bernard" Passed away on the 2nd July 2023 aged 80 years. Husband of Maureen. Will be sadly missed by his entire family. Bernard's funeral will be held at St Mary's Church, Broughton Astley, Leicestershire on Monday 7th August 2023 at 1pm followed by a burial at Broughton Astley Cemetery at 2pm Family flowers only please, but donations can be made in lieu to the Oncology Department of the Walsgrave Hospital, Clifford Bridge Road, Coventry. Bernard was a good friend in the 50s when we were boys living in Bleathwood. We had great fun by the river Ledwyche, on our bikes and the usual boyhood escapades. My family moved to Stamford in late 1959 and we lost touch. After unsuccessfully trying to trace Bernard and failing in the 2000s, he tracked me down in early 2011 after 51 years!!! We met up 3 times before his sad passing; it would have been more but for the pandemic. At the first meet up it was just the same Bernard, just a little older. A great friend and very sadly missed, but left great memories.
