FESTIVE Friends, (a Christmas Day lunch in Bishop’s Castle for those who would otherwise be on their own), teetered on the brink of disaster this year due to an electricity failure in the Church Barn.
The event was saved by a coming together of some wonderful local people who have been named and thanked in your extensive newspaper coverage.
However grateful thanks too are due to those who donated contributions both large and small and particularly our very generous supporters, Andrew Pugh, the butcher, for our lovely turkey and trimmings, John and Mary from the Six Bells for their selection of excellent beers and Margaret Whittall of Edgton Farm for our fine Christmas tree which looked a treat!
Thanks also to all our volunteers who gave their time so freely and without whom we could not function.
