DEMAND for property in the Bishop's Castle area is high.
But money is tight and buyers will not spend over the odds.
That is the message from an estate agent in the town.
Residential properties with realistic asking prices are being snapped up like hot cakes in the Shropshire border market town of Bishop's Castle and surrounding area according to estate agent Halls.
David Bryan-Jones, manager of Halls’ Bishop's Castle office, is looking for more properties to market to meet growing demand from potential buyers, many of whom are keen to move to the area.
Particularly popular are homes in the £100,000 to £300,000 price band but David Bryan-Jones says it’s essential that they are realistically priced, otherwise discerning buyers will look elsewhere.
“The majority of potential buyers do their research and are well informed about the local property market,” he said.
“They know if a property is over-priced.”
He says that sellers who get the price right can expect a queue of potential buyers.
“Owners who have a more realistic approach to their price expectations are often able to secure interest from multiple prospective buyers leading to a quick sale, allowing them to move on with their lives,” he said, but added that people who push their luck could find themselves having to lower their expectations after many months without a sale.
