THE group who looks after a Ludlow beauty spot have been awarded money by the Town Council to help with their work.
Town councillors agreed to a request for £500 from the Friends of Whitclifffe Common that has 250 members and an annual income of £15,000.
The group has annual costs of in the order of £14,000 and spends its money on a range of activities including cutting back undergrowth and clearing paths.
They also look after the benches at the beauty spot that overlooks the town and has thousands of visitors each year.
It also looks after the rock faces which are of international importance and bring students to Ludlow.
