LUDLOW Medieval Christmas Fayre has been delighting visitors for more than 20 years – and 2020 will be no exception, but with a big difference.
For the last 21 years this hugely popular annual event has transformed the stunning setting of Ludlow Castle into an immersive medieval spectacle, catering for all ages with a full programme packed with entertainment and more than 100 stalls selling seasonal wares, food and drink, crafts, historical goods and more.
This time because of Covid-19 it will be online but there will still be a chance to support local traders at this tough time.
On Saturday, there will be performances from familiar fayre favourites, with theatre, music, jesters and storytelling, alongside bite-sized historical highlights, activities, behind the scenes tours and demonstrations. From then until Christmas Day, there will be an online marketplace.
Mother and daughter team Prue and Abi Dakin, who run Shropshire-based Dakin Events, hope the virtual version will go some way to filling the gap for visitors and traders.
