STAFF at Ludlow Town Council have been busy preparing an early Christmas treat for older people in the town.
Packing of the seniors goodie bags is well underway.
This year because of Covid-19, the Town Council has been unable to hold its annual Seniors Christmas party at the college,
So it was decided to deliver goodie bags to those eligible instead.
The council says that it has been ‘staggered’ by the response and more than 400 bags have been filled.
“We are thrilled to be able to spread a bit of festive cheer during these difficult times,” said Town Clerk Gina Wilding.
Bags are being delivered by Council staff and Town Councillors.
People in the town who will be on their own at Christmas also have until Tuesday, December 8 to request a meal on December 25 that will be cooked and delivered by volunteers from Hands Together Ludlow.
This replaces the traditional lunch where usually about 40 people come together for Christmas lunch and the socialise on the special day.
