TOM Blount scored twice as Ludlow Hockey Club men’s firsts began the new Midlands West season with a 5-2 win over Worcester seconds.
Andrew Richards, Jake Watts and skipper Sam Pratt also netted as Ludlow welcomed Tom’s brother Matt Blount back after almost two years out injured.

Elsewhere, Tenbury Ladies firsts lost their Worcestershire League opener 3-2 against Worcester seconds.
Tenbury began brightly after their 12-month lay-off as Naomi Burgoyne and Cat Mumford netted to put the hosts 2-0 up but Worcester fought back to win.
On the football front, Sean Evans scored for Ludlow but they lost 3-1 at leaders Hodnet in the Salop Leisure League Premier.
Clee Hill beat Ewyas Harold 3-1 in round one of the Herefordshire FA Charity Bowl but Ludlow Town Colts were dumped out 11-0 by Hereford Pegasus Reserves.
Tenbury United thrashed Kempsey 7-2 in the Worcestershire Cup as Ryan Morris scored four and Chris Patton netted three.
Woofferton went top of Herefordshire League Division Two with a thrilling 4-3 win over Ross Colts.
Ryan Clarke hit a hat-trick to put Woofferton 3-2 up at half-time and although Ross levelled, skipper Jack Pound headed home the hosts’ winner.
