LUDLOW Town Council is expecting to take on responsibility for all but one of the play areas in the town currently looked after by Shropshire Council.
As it prepares the budget for 2022/23 the town council envisages taking on 11 of the 12 play areas in the town.
Other projects that have been designated as a priority include the extension of the Henley Road Cemetery.
The next stage of the CCTV coverage in the town is also to be taken forward.
Ludlow Town Council is responsible for the public toilets in Castle Street and these are in line for a refurbishment.
The council says that the toilets in Castle Street are well used and although the income from users does not cover the costs, having a charge does reduce the cost to council tax payers.
It is also intended to develop plans for a ‘town green’ on a site that has been provided by Shropshire Housing and had been earmarked for building until this was stopped following a protest from residents.
