FLOODING can be a serious risk at any time during the year.
But winter can be an especially bad time although with the mild weather there has so far not been the problem of snow melting on the hills leading to a rise in river levels. It is approaching two years since the floods of February 2020 that left low lying parts of Ludlow under water.
The town missed out on Government money for a flood defence scheme but the Environment Agency does have in place a warning system that enables people to receive alerts.
The Environment Agency monitoring of river flooding includes the facility to sign up for flood alerts direct to a mobile phone.
