Bryan Easson says a data-driven week of crunching the numbers can help stuttering Scotland spring a TikTok Women’s Six Nations shock against France.
The Scots slumped to defeats against England and Wales and now welcome unbeaten Les Bleues to Glasgow on Sunday afternoon.
Ffion Lewis’ dramatic late try snatched victory from Scotland in Cardiff and boss Easson hopes a diligent week of analysis can banish those demons at Scotstoun.
He said: “We’ve had a good review this week following last Saturday’s result against Wales.
“We’ve taken a lot of learnings on board.
“We’ve spoken this week about being a lot more clinical and working a little bit harder off the ball.
“We need to make sure those running lines are more detailed for the match this weekend.”
France breezed past Italy and Ireland on the opening two weekends and head of women’s setup Thomas Darracq, whose side have made nine changes to the XV that thumped the Irish 40-5, said: “This trip needs to confirm the work we have put in over the last three weeks.”
Ireland host Italy in the final game of the third round as the Championship’s bottom two teams slug it out in Cork.
Greg McWilliams’ side slipped to a surprise defeat against Wales first time out before that defeat in Toulouse leaves them searching for their first points of the campaign.
Boss McWilliams, who has made four changes to his team, said: “We have challenged the players to take their opportunities and we’re trying to increase competition across the board, which is a really healthy thing.”
Italy welcome back their two most experienced players in Manuela Furlan and Sara Barattin and chief Andrea Di Giandomenico said: “Both teams are looking for their first success in the Championship, so it will certainly be a close match.”
