THERE has been a bitter disappointment for people trying to get safety improvements to an accident blackspot on the border of south Shropshire and Herefordshire.
Vivienne Parry, Shropshire councillor for Ludlow South, has been trying to get either a roundabout or traffic lights adjacent to the Salwey Arms near the junction of the A49 and A456 turn off in the direction of Little Hereford and Tenbury.
Despite having been many accidents over the years, including fatalities, Mrs Parry says that she has been told that any effective measures would be too expensive and there is no money available.
The A49 between Ludlow and Hereford carries a lot of heavy and fast moving traffic at a busy junction with right turns and limited visibility.
