LUDLOW castle says that it has been 'blown away' by requests for ticket to attend the 'Festival of Lights' in the castle grounds.
It will take place on Saturday, November 26 and will be part of the new three day 'Winter Festival' that has replaced the Medieval Fayre.
Some additional tickets were released last Friday and people can apply by visiting www.ludlowcastle.com/ludlow-castle-book-events/
The town has pulled together to organise three days of events that will replace the traditional Medieval Fayre.
Last year the Fayre was devastated by a storm that ripped down stalls and forced its cancellation on the morning that it was due to start.
The family based business that organised the event said that unfortunately it was not going to be able to continue with the Fayre that has traditionally marked the start of the Christmas season and has included the turning on of the Town Council lights and the illuminations on the Rotary Club Tree of Light that supports local charities and gives people a chance to make a donation and remember a loved one.
From the beginning it was felt that something needed to be done to provide a celebratory start to Christmas.
The Town Council, Chamber of Trade, the group behind the summer arts Fringe and others, have some together to organise three days of activities with something for most tastes.
