PEOPLE from Tenbury and the surrounding area have been enjoying the fun of the pantomime at the Regal in the town.

But for those that have not seen it there is still time.

Robin Hood that opened eight days ago will continue until Saturday, December 31.

It is the eighth professional pantomime at the venue.

“Our amazing cast and crew have years of experience delivering jaw dropping productions on stages across Europe,” said Theatre Director Andrew Macduff.

“We are so excited to bring this classic panto story to Tenbury.”

The annual pantomime is one of the highlights of the Regal’s calendar of events.

The town has had a busy run up to Christmas with the Mistletoe Festival and sales as well as the Santa Parade and markets to get people to spend in local shops.

As usual Tenbury was one of the first places in the area to turn on its Christmas lights.

Traders will be waiting to see how takings stack up this year in the face of rocketing inflation and a cost of living crisis.

They will also try to determine how very cold weather in the middle of the month affected sales, whether it encouraged people to stay local or caused more of them to shop online.

It will be a busy few days over Christmas for clergy in the town with different services.

The town has also been showing its caring side with a Toy Bank at St Mary’s Church as well as the Food Bank that helps people struggling to keep themselves and their families fed.

There has also been thanks to those people from the area who have opened their homes to refugees from the war in the Ukraine.

Tenbury MP Harriett Baldwin has thanked local families who have opened their homes to people fleeing the war in Ukraine at a reception held in Worcester’s Hive Library.

Nearly 1,000 people have relocated from Ukraine to Worcestershire including over 400 children and High Sherriff Andrew Manning-Cox hosted an event to thank hosts last week.

Mrs Baldwin, whose West Worcestershire constituency includes Tenbury, described people that had taken in those fleeing the war as ‘local heroes and added that it was the hope that the people from Ukraine would eventually be able to return home.
