A BMW driver caught out on the A49 in Ludlow has been banned from the roads.
Barry Jewitt entered a guilty plea to one count of drink-driving when he appeared before magistrates in Telford in March.
The court heard from prosecutor Kate Price that the 74-year-old had been caught behind the wheel of a grey BMW on the A49 at Ludlow while over the drink-driving limit on February 15.

An evidential breath test taken by police revealed that Jewitt had 57 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal driving limit is 35 microgrammes.
Jewitt, of Craven Arms in Shropshire, was handed a 14-month driving ban and fined £1,223 for the offence, with magistrates saying they had taken his guilty plea into account when deciding on the penalty.
He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £135 and a £489 victim surcharge.
