The court heard from prosecutor Zaine Riaz that the 47-year-old had stolen six boxes of Calgon washing machine tablets, worth a total of £35.94, from the Family Shopper shop in Sandford Avenue, Church Stretton, on March 27.
Morse, of Sandpits Avenue, Ludlow, was handed an 18-month community order and fined £20 for the offence, with magistrates saying they had taken her guilty plea into account when imposing the penalty.
She was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £135 and a £114 victim surcharge, but no compensation was ordered to be paid as there was no loss or damage.
