FIRE crews rescued a sheep from the river Teme at Newnham Bridge last night (Sunday) after a fell into the water.
Two crews from Tenbury Wells, including the water first responders, attended the meadows off Worcester Road along with the animal rescue team from Bromyard at around 8pm.
A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: “A sheep was trapped on a steep ledge after falling around 15 feet down an embankment by the river Teme.
“Fire service personnel waded into the water and carried the sheep back to safety. The crews left the scene at 9.32pm.”
