PANTOMIME ticket prices have been frozen for theatregoers in Tenbury Wells this year.
Committed to the local community, the Regal theatre has decided to freeze pantomime ticket prices, bringing locals this year’s pantomime at last year’s prices.
"This affordable spectacular is a fabulous family experience, not to be missed," a spokesperson for the theatre said.
Brought to you from the same creative team behind last year’s rollicking Robin Hood, the traditional story of Aladdin will be presented with an unexpected icy twist that sees our hero travel to the frozen fjords of Norway.
Opening on Friday, December 15, Aladdin is running until Sunday, December 31, 2023 and includes a relaxed performance on Wednesday, December 20, designed to support those who benefit from a more relaxed environment.
Producer and director Chris Garner said: “A highlight of the holiday season, the pantomime at the Regal is enjoyed by residents and visitors from miles around.
"It’s great news that we’ve been able to freeze prices so that everyone can enjoy what will be another spectacular production. There’s Norway anyone can afford to miss it!”
Join the adventure as Aladdin, a wannabe singer from Tenburyania, falls in love with the princess, discovers an enchanted lamp and with his hilarious dotty mum Bety Bagwash, and a mysterious manic genie sets out to make a fortune.
But hiding in the shadows is the evil failed Norwegian magician, Bjorn Narstee who, with his blonde bouffant hair and white flared pantsuit, will stop at nothing to get his hands on that valuable lamp: Boo! Hiss!
"This is a Christmas cracker of a treat for all ages!" A theatre spokesperson said.
The Regal theatre is a community-focused theatre with big plans for the future. Set in Tenbury Wells, the beautiful Art Deco building started life as a cinema in 1937.
Today, it presents a varied programme of live comedy, music and live theatre alongside regular movie and arts screenings and an annual professional pantomime.
