CHILDREN have been exploring their creative sides as they gear up to put on top-notch show in Tenbury Wells.
The first ever Ludwig Theatre Arts summer youth project which we have created as part of the school's program for the youth of the area to create one of the Music Theatre International Broadway Junior musicals in just two weeks.
The cast of 25 local children aged from seven to 16, have been working together in rehearsals for The Little Mermaid Junior, putting a total of 77 hours into creating this smash hit musical.
They will be presenting the musical live on stage at Tenbury High Ormiston Academy on August 10 and 11 at 7pm.
Across the two weeks, the summer youth project students have been learning the choreography for the show from Megan Davies, vocals from musical director, Jenni Axtell and direction from Jack Ludwig.
"It has been an exciting time for the students to work at a fast pace with industry creatives, and get a glimpse of what a rehearsal period for a professional show would be like," Mr Ludwig said.
"The students have been involved with set design, costumes and social media takeovers, which you can see on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok @ludwigtheatrearts, alongside the final week of our summer youth project.
"We also have two workshops on Thursday and Friday for younger children, aged three to six, which are a perfect introduction to performing arts and what we offer here in Tenbury Wells.
Tickets are on sale for The Little Mermaid Junior and further details of what is on offer can be found, via the Ludwig Theatre Arts website, www.ludwigtheatrearts.com
Ludwig Theatre Arts was set up in 2021 by Jack Ludwig.
It has been involved in initiatives such as bringing open air cinema to Tenbury and providing circus skills training for young people, and even took 25 young people on the trip of a lifetime to New York earlier this year.
