A BRIDGE near Ludlow will close later this month for repair works after suffering crash damage.
The work on Bitterley Rectory Bridge is set to take place between August 28 and September 1.
The work will involve taking down and reconstructing damage caused by a crash to the downstream parapet, and general vegetation clearance of the bridge.
The road closure will be in place for 24 hours a day, while traffic will be diverted by a signed diversion route.
Access over the bridge for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will remain available throughout the proposed work, although there may be a short delay while the site is made safe to travel through due to the restricted width of the carriageway.
"Inevitably there will be some disruption during this work, for which we apologise in advance," a Shropshire Council spokesperson said.
"We will always endeavour to minimise any inconvenience."
The work will be carried out by the council’s term maintenance contractor Kier, with supervision being provided by WSP on behalf of Shropshire Council.
