A DRINK driver who hit a wall near Ludlow has been sentenced.
Christopher Fice, from Seabright Road, Kidderminster, was driving a Kia Rio on the A4110
at Mortimer's Cross at 9.45pm on December 19, 2022.
Mark Hambling, prosecuting at Hereford Magistrates Court, said the car collided with a wall of a nearby property.
"It caused minor damage to the wall," said Mr Hambling.
"There were no other passengers. Police attended and the gentleman was arrested and taken to hospital because of the injuries that he had."
The 38-year-old had 80 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, with the legal limit being 80mg.
In defence, George Cousins said Fice had spend the day with his ex-partner and child in Shobdon and had a drink.
However, after leaving to return to Kidderminster, he 'ran into a wall' about two miles into the journey.
"He fully cooperated with the police and pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity," said Mr Cousins.
Fice was disqualified from driving for 14 months and fined £184.
He also has to pay court costs of £135 and a victim surcharge of £74 respectively.
