A MAN has been charged with firearms offences after police searched a property on the near Tenbury yesterday (August 15).
Kristopher Bloomfield, of Bockleton, has been charged with possessing a firearm without a certificate, possessing ammunition for a firearm without a certificate, possessing an explosive substance for an unlawful purpose, and possessing an offensive weapon in a private place.
The 22-year-old is due to appear at Kidderminster Magistrates Court tomorrow (August 17). Explosive Ordance Disposal (EOD) experts were called to assist with police to make the firearms safe after being called to the property to the village.
Detective Chief Inspector Chris Percival said: “I’d like to thank the local community in Bockleton for their understanding and patience as we carried out our searches yesterday.
"We understand a police presence in such a small village can be concerning, however, I would like to reassure residents the incident was contained and at no point did we believe there was, or is any on-going, risk to the wider public.”
