MORE roadworks are to take place in Tenbury this week, with businesses fearing that it will again affect their trade.
Engineers from Cadent were in the town this morning (Tuesday) getting reads to start gas work in Market Street, with the road set to close for four days.
Jennifer Smith has a holiday cottage that is rented out in the centre of the town.
"My property is a few feet away from the Leominster side of the sign with a designated parking space next to the Market Tavern which will be a really long diversion," she said.
"A few weeks ago there were road closed signs on the bridge at Tenbury across the road, then another set of road closed signs on the corner by The Crow all for a short section of road by the Kings Head with road closed signs across.
"But zero works happened - everyone just drove around the signs and it was so dangerous. Of course it stopped people coming into Tenbury for shopping and the guests at my holiday property had a nightmare trying to get about - it really put them off the town."
Just last month, Councillor Andrew Willmott said that roadworks in nearby Teme Street was severely restricting business, adding that Tenbury's road network is one of the primary infrastructure's in the town.
