AN ACCLAIMED play is set to return to the local area.
Arts Alive, a rural touring scheme for Shropshire and Herefordshire, has secured a return of the show ‘Mountain Music’ to SpArC Theatre in Bishop's Castle on October 6.
The production is currently on its second UK tour. The musical play follows the evolution of British folk music into American country music over 300 years, featuring three-part harmonies and a five-piece string band. The show written and devised by the Olivier Award-winning company Little Bulb and produced by Farnham Maltings.
Chief Executive Officer Peter Glanville said: “We are delighted to be reviving this innovative piece of theatre, produced alongside one of our associate companies, whose Olivier Award-winning work continues to inspire and entertain communities.”
Little Bulb is an award-winning national touring company based in the Southwest of England.
A spokesperson said: “They are committed to developing devised and physical theatre performances which explore and illuminate minute human details. Combining innovative character work, beautiful imagery and original homemade music, they aspire to create performances that with humour and sadness will touch, startle and entertain.”
Tickets are £14 for adults and £8 for children and can be bought by visiting artsalive.co.uk
