TWO buildings have been demolished as part of ongoing works at Tenbury High Ormiston Academy.
The temporary music and drama blocks, which have been on the school grounds for a number of years, were destroyed over the summer holidays to make space for a dedicated minibus parking bay and an extended outdoor social and eating space.
Construction of new drama and music buildings is expected to commence soon.
A school garden is also in the works, where the faculty hopes to grow vegetables and fruit trees. The garden will also serve as a well-being and sensory space for pupils to use.
There are additional plans for an academic resilience centre where the learning support team will deliver curriculum interventions and a space named ‘the hive’ where bespoke pastoral and behaviour interventions will be delivered.
Principal Vicki Dean said: “I hope you will agree there are lots of positive changes at the school for the start of this year and I am really looking forward to the year ahead.”
