TWO people have been fined after they were caught committing offences on a road in Craven Arms.
Torbjorn John Butcher entered guilty pleas to one count of permitting the use of a vehicle with no insurance and one count of permitting the driving of a vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence to magistrates in Worcester in September.
Kim Hughes entered a guilty plea to one count of using a motor vehicle on a road or public place without insurance and one count of driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence to the court
The court heard from the prosecutor that 36-year-old Butcher had allowed 26-year-old Hughes to drive a Ford Focus on the B4368 at Craven Arms in Shropshire without a valid third-party insurance policy in place on February 24.
He had also allowed Hughes to drive the car without a licence authorising her to drive a vehicle of that class on the same date, the court heard.
Butcher, of Worthen, Shrewsbury, was fined a total of £880 and received six penalty points for the offences. He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £90 and a £352 victim surcharge.
Hughes, of Castle Street, Clun, was fined £80 and received six penalty points. She must pay prosecution costs of £90 and a £32 victim surcharge.
