POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a serious crash near Tenbury on Saturday morning (October 7).
Emergency services were called to the A456 shortly before 1.20am. A black Audi A1 crashed into a fence and telegraph pole and turned onto its roof, with a person becoming trapped.
West Mercia Police said: "Officers are appealing for witnesses to a collision on the A456, Burford.
"The collision happened when a black Audi A1 was travelling from the general direction of Tenbury towards Brimfield, just before the Bleathwood lane. The car appears to have lost control and collided with a fence and telegraph pole before turning onto its roof. One person from the car was taken to the hospital and remains in a critical but stable condition.
"Anyone with information or dash-cam footage is asked to contact Sergeant Poucher on 07929 800829.
"Alternatively, information can be shared anonymously with the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or by visiting www.crimestoppers-org.uk."
A fire crew from Ludlow was also sent to assist, with the ambulance service and police also in attendance.
It is understood that the crash resulted in the road being closed for a number of hours, until at least 3.30am.
