A CAR was fully alight near Tenbury last night (October 26).
Firefighters were called to the Mamble area shortly before 9.45pm.
Posting on its Facebook Page, Tenbury Wells Fire Station said: "
"On arrival, a small petrol car was fully alight, so two firefighters in breathing apparatus were deployed to extinguish the fire.
"Luckily, the driver had got out of the vehicle before it was engulfed in flames, and whilst he was shaken up, there were fortunately no injuries.
"Once the fire was fully out, the car was monitored for any hot spots using our thermal imaging camera. Once the officer in charge was happy, the road was reopened to a single lane before the car was removed from the carriageway.
"Debris was clear from the road by fire service personnel before leaving the incident with the police.
"A quick top-up of water before we were mobile and available on our return to station."
