LIBRARY users in Church Stretton and Bridgnorth are facing disruption as new shelving is being installed.
The Friends of Church Stretton have funded the displays, with the library closed until Tuesday, December 19. The Visitor Information Centre is also closed.
People with items on loan have been assured there will not be a penalty for late returns during the closure.
In Bridgnorth there will be limited access to books while new shelving funded by Arts Council England is installed. The work will be carried out from Monday, December 11, until Monday, December 18. Anyone who needs assistance can ask staff members.
Robert Macey, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for culture and digital, said: “The new shelving in both libraries will improve the facilities for our customers and staff. The Friends of Church Stretton Library have generously funded the work there, and we have been fortunate to receive Arts Council England for the shelves at Bridgnorth.
“I am sure they will refresh the look and feel of the libraries and will allow the spaces to be used creatively too.”
Arts Council England will also provide new shelving for libraries in Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Oswestry and Whitchurch. Dates of these installations will be confirmed soon.
