LUDLOW library will be temporarily closing next month.
It will shut its doors from January 4 through to January 14 so that new shelving can be installed.
These improvements come after Shropshire Libraries have been awarded funding by Arts Council England to install new equipment to make library spaces more accommodating and accessible to the wider community.
No items will be due back whilst the library is closed, and overdue charges will not be accumulated during the closure period.
Shropshire Local, Barclays Bank and Shropshire Registrars will close for Christmas, but will continue to be open as usual while the shelving is being installed.
The library will also close from December 24 through to January 1 for a Christmas break, with reduced opening hours on December 23, January 2 and January 3.
A spokesperson for the library said: “Please take extra books if required.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused, and we look forward to welcoming you into the new revitalised library soon.”
