STORM Gerrit has battered large parts of the country today (December 28) but Ludlow, Tenbury and the surrounding areas have escaped the worst of it.
There are, however, three flood alerts in place for the region.
The first is at the Ledwyche Brook and river Rea, with levels remaining high at Nenwham Bridge. Alerts are also in place at the Lower and Upper Teme, with flooding possible on land and roads in Ludlow, Tenbury, Bishops Castle and Church Stretton.
The predicted peak for Ludlow is three to 3.2 metres, with Leintwardine being 1.2m to 1.6m.
Councillor David Chambers, who represents Tenbury for Worcestershire County Council, said: "So far, we are ok. It's just a matter of checking it every day.
"It is so unpredictable because the Teme rises so quickly.
"The councillors get emergency calls so we are confident that we can cope with any emergencies."
Looking ahead, the rest of today (Thursday) and tomorrow (Friday) looks much drier; however, more rain is expected on Saturday (December 30).
