THIS week, flood alerts have been in place around Ludlow as rain has been falling on saturated ground, and a flood warning has been issued in Tenbury.
On Tuesday, January 2, there were three alerts around Ludlow, at the Ledwyche Brook and Rea, lower Teme and upper Teme. There is also a flood warning for the river Teme in Tenbury.
The Environment Agency warned that, with river levels rising, some footpaths and driving routes would be flooded.
"River levels are high. Plan routes to avoid low-lying roads near rivers," the agency said.
The lower and upper Teme alerts mean that areas both upstream and downstream of Ludlow are covered by flood alerts.
There were also Met Office warnings for wind and rain, covering Shropshire and large areas of the rest of the UK.
In the warnings, the Met Office said: "Windy weather will be accompanied by heavy rain in places.
"Very windy conditions are likely to quickly develop and then spread eastwards across southern and some central parts of England. Winds will ease from the west."
"Check if you could be at risk of flooding. If so, consider a flood plan and an emergency flood kit."
