THE start of 2024 was a wet one for many, with Storm Henk causing havoc across the region.
However, thankfully the picture is now much better with drier conditions, albeit much colder.
Today (Thursday) is set to be cloudy but staying generally dry, with a maximum temperature of around 5C.
That is the theme for the next couple of days, although the mercury is only due to reach 3C on Saturday (January 13).
There will be patchy overnight frosts overnight, meaning that you may have to de-ice your car first thing.
As we go into next week, the forecast is for more sun, especially on Monday (January 15).
However, the overnight temperatures are set to fall further, with the temperature being as low as -3C in the early hours of Tuesday (January 16).
An amber cold health alert has been issued by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and Met Office which is in place until midday tomorrow (Friday).
This includes the north west of England, the West Midlands, East Midlands, south east of England and south west of England.
