A FORMER political broadcaster will be sharing his stories at Ludlow Assembly Rooms.
John Sergeant, who was the chief political correspondent for the BBC from 1992 to 2000 and ITN’s Political Editor from 2000 until 2002, will be on stage at 7.30pm on Friday, June 7.
His award-winning career as a political journalist saw him interview former British Primer Ministers Margaret Thatcher, John Major, and Tony Blair.
In recent years, Sergeant has returned to his first love of light entertainment and can be seen regularly on programmes like The One Show, Have I Got News For You, QI, Room 101, and the News Quiz. There were also his infamous appearance on Strictly Come Dancing in 2008.
Paired with Kristina Rihanoff, the broadcaster was regularly in the bottom two; however, the viewers kept saving him.
Eventually, Sergeant left the show in week 10, with him saying: “The trouble is that there is now a real danger that I might win the competition. Even for me, that would be a joke too far.”
Tickets, which includes a glass of wine or soft drink on arrival, are £25 and can be bought by calling 01584 878141 or visiting visiting ludlowassemblyrooms.co.uk
