A SHROPSHIRE driver has been hit with points after they were caught without insurance in a supermarket car park.
Brian Richards, 73, was caught in the car park of Tuffins in Craven Arms in June 2022.
His car, a Fiat, was found not to be insured covering the use of the vehicle.
He had previously entered a not guilty to a single count of using a vehicle on a road or public place without third party insurance, but was proven guilty in his absence at Telford Magistrates’ Court in January.
Richards, of Round Oak in Hopesay, was fined £660 and received eight points on his driving licence.
He was ordered to pay court costs of £620 and a £66 victim surcharge which helps fund services supporting victims of crime.
This must be paid in full by February 22.
