A NEW business may be moving into the former Costa premises in King Street.
Over the years, the exterior of the vacant shop has been seen to deteriorate, causing concern amongst some locals with many expressing fears that the building would soon become dangerous and prove hazardous to passing pedestrians who may be struck by masonry should it crumble and fall.
According to Andy Boddington, Shropshire councillor for Ludlow North, the building may receive some restorative work as a new business could move into the property soon.
“The owner of the former Costa Coffee building rang me yesterday,” Coun Boddington said earlier this month.
“He hopes to sign up a national retailer in the next six weeks.
“We discussed the timing of the works to smarten up the building.
“I said that work would have to be before Easter or after Easter but not over Easter. It looks likely to be after Easter as facias and any other branding work would need to be done at the same time.”
