An application has been made to convert a former community ambulance station in Craven Arms to a residential home.

The application reveals that the property already has a fitted kitchen and bathroom, and the only significant change required is the addition of a door into one of the existing internal walls to create a bedroom.

The final shift for the station was in October 2021after the decision was taken to close Shropshire's four community ambulance stations.

"No crews are left on these local stations, said Anthony Marsh, chief executive officer at West Midlands Ambulance Service, explaining the decision. "They are all out responding to patients. Apart from crew changeover and their meal breaks there are no crews based at these CAS points; they are empty.

" By removing the four sites in Shropshire, we will be able to respond to hundreds of additional cases each year."

Any comments regarding the application should be submitted as soon as possible to Shropshire.gov.uk
