A DRINK-DRIVER from Shropshire who was caught in a Ford Transit that he took without the owner's consent while over the limit has been banned from driving.
William Card, aged 18, was caught on Greenfield Row in Cardigan, Wales, on August 20 last year.
A breath test found he had 51 microgrammes (mg) of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit in England and Wales is 35 mg.
He pleaded guilty to one count of drink-driving and one count of taking a vehicle without the owner's consent when he appeared before magistrates in Aberystwyth this month.
Card, of Oak Meadow, Bishops Castle, also admitted driving it without third party insurance.
He was handed a community order of unpaid work, in which he must complete 50 hours within 12 months.
He was banned from driving for a total of 20 months, and must pay prosecution costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £114.
