A VAN driver has been fined £350 for driving without insurance and a licence.

Magistrates found Artur Wiktor Gajewski, 36, guilty of driving a Vauxhall Vivaro on August 23 last year on the A488 at Bishops Castle while he did not have a licence or third-party insurance.

He had been caught breaking the law by West Mercia Police, according to the prosecutor at the hearing.

He pleaded guilty to the offences and was convicted via single justice procedure at Worcester Magistrates’ Court.

As well as the hefty fine, he was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £140 and prosecution costs of £90.

Gajewski, of Stembridge Close in Hull, has had his driving record endorsed, Worcester Magistrates Court said at the hearing on March 7. He was given six penalty points on his record.

Magistrates said his guilty plea was taken into account when imposing the sentence for the offences.
