POLICE are cracking down on untaxed cars in south Shropshire.
Police community support officer Jay Rees of Church Stretton and Craven Arms safer neighbourhood team shared a picture of a car seized by the team on May 15.
The car, which PCSO Rees said appeared to have been dumped and was taking up valuable parking space, had been reported to officers by a member of the public.
PCSO Rees thanked locals for the information, and is asking anyone who spots a vehicle that looks suspicious or who knows of a vehicle without tax to get in touch with the team.
Car owners must by law tax their vehicles if they are using it or keeping it on a public road, while vehicles being kept off the road must either be taxed or have a Statutory Off Road Notification. You must tax your vehicle, even if you do not have to pay anything.
Failing to tax or SORN your vehicle can result in financial penalties, court action, and your vehicle being clamped or impounded.
