A MAN has admitted sending “malicious” messages on Facebook.
David Brown, aged 61, of Oak Meadow, Bishops Castle, pleaded guilty to sending messages which conveyed “false information” between July 10, 2022, and July 14, 2022.
Prosecutor Thomas McLoughlin said Brown had sent a woman false information with the purpose of causing her distress or anxiety.
The information he sent was said to have been “known or believed to be fake” by Brown, yet he intended that it or its contents be communicated to the recipient of the message or to others.
He first entered a plea on November 1, 2022, and reappeared at Chester Crown Court on May 2.
The case has been adjourned again, and he will be sentenced at Shrewsbury Crown Court, with a date yet to be fixed according to documents.
He has been remanded on conditional bail and told not to interfere with witnesses or otherwise obstruct the course of justice, and has been banned from contacting the victim and another man either directly or indirectly.
