A SPEEDER caught exceeding the 30 miles per hour limit on a Shropshire A-road has been fined.

David Keith Sallows, who is 60 and from Bishops Castle, was seen speeding on the A458 at Morville on September 12 last year.

The exact speed he was travelling at was not given by the court, but it was heard that he was driving a Vauxhall vehicle.

Sallows admitted a single count of speeding and was handed three penalty points on his licence.

At a sentencing hearing at Telford Magistrates’ Court on May 8, he avoided disqualification. The court heard that disqualifying Sallows would result in his employees losing their jobs in a rural area of Shropshire.

According to Companies House, he is a director at two businesses, EPS Printing Limited based in Shrewsbury and Exhibition and Presentation Solutions Limited based in Lydbury North.

Sallows was fined £284 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £114 and prosecution costs of £85.
