STUDENTS paid a visit to a Ludlow care home to spend quality time with the residents.

Year eight students from Moor Park visiting Hagley Place Care Home at the end of term, where they created thankyou cards to celebrate the vital work of carers.

A Hagley Place spokesperson said: “The age difference didn’t stop the conversations flowing. It was lovely to see the generations getting on so well. And our appreciation board at the home now looks fantastic!”

The students also spent a day at the Ludlow charity Hands Together learning about the important work they do in the community and lending a hand.

This was all part of a wider new end-of-term initiative Moor Park launched for their students after the completion of all their exams, to give them invaluable, real-world experience away from simply just the academic focus, focusing on important environmental, social and community needs and projects.

Headteacher Brendan Brady said: “Off-timetable, real-world experience adds invaluable experience to our children’s personal growth and development.

"Our new post-exam programme for year eight offers the children an insight into the world around them, human and natural.

"They will learn about bugs and birds and bio-blitzes, develop planning skills and support those less privileged than themselves."
