DEAN Robert will be in discussion with acclaimed local poet Pelé Cox about poetry, composition and oration for one night only at Oscar's in Ludlow, an auditorium space at the Assembly Rooms.
The evening on August 8 will cover various topics, drawing upon their own compositions and depth of experience.
Following nine years as Dean of Hereford, during which time he helped save the Mappa Mundi and Chain Library from being sold, Dean Robert went on to be Dean of Canterbury and Chair of the King’s School, Canterbury (the world’s oldest school), advising three archbishops, the crown and government for 21 years as well as working with a multitude of different charities and organisations globally and is also well-known for his daily broadcasts with his cats and other animals which he and his civil-partner, Fletcher Banner, made throughout Covid for 26 months, a ministry which went to millions around the world of all faiths and none and which they continue through their Youtube channel Garden Congregation.
An accomplished wordsmith and one of the most published living hymn writers, Dean Robert will talk of his love of the written word and his current compositions including an oratorio called Angels Unawares which he is creating with musician James MacMillan.
Tickets cost £15 each and are available from the Assembly Rooms website.
